The SATELLITE Experience

The SATELLITE program boasts impressive speakers leading discussions on the future of satellite connectivity and how the landscape is changing for so many markets. Juliane Gallina, IBM Watson; Mark Spiwak, Boeing; Gwynne Shotwell, SpaceX and more have already said yes to being a part of this larger conversation. The conversations in these sessions are a very important part of the experience, but SATELLITE week is about so much more. Your experiences and interactions outside of those sessions are just as important to create a comprehensive SATELLITE week.

To help you navigate all of the activities, here are a few “can’t miss” events and attractions at SATELLITE 2018:

SGx – Back for the third year in a row, SGx is a series of fast-paced TEDx-style talks from aerospace leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs. SGx bridges the gap between veterans in the aerospace industry and professionals who are attracted to the innovation driving the industry. New in 2018, SGx will end with a mentor/mentee meet-up to encourage mingling among attendees.

Welcome Reception – Sponsored by Inmarsat, the Welcome Reception Monday evening is the number one social activity at SATELLITE to reconnect with the community.  No pretenses, no expectations – the number one goal of the reception is to welcome our alumni back to SATELLITE and give our first time attendees a chance to take in all they are about to experience!

Tuesday Opening General Session – Whether you’ve been to SATELLITE before or this is your first time, you’re in for a treat with the official kick-off session Tuesday morning. We’re shaking things up this year, progressing the conversation down the ecosystem and putting power users of satellite technology on the stage with the power satellite operators. Media, connected car, telecommunications, automation – we’re setting the tone for SATELLITE week by delving into the markets driving the future of satellite connectivity.

Satellite Executive of the Year Lunch – On Wednesday, March 14, we’re honoring a top executive in the satellite industry who is making the biggest difference during a time of rapid transition. Disruption, innovation and realization of success are all part of the story of the Satellite Executive of the Year honoree.

Thursday Closing General Session – New for 2018 and open to all attendees, we’re closing out SATELLITE with a bang! After the show floor closes at 1pm, head to room 202 for the general session Telco Execs: Are Satellite and Terrestrial Industries Converging?.

Last, but not least, the Exhibit Floor – the heart of the show, the Exhibit Floor is your one-stop-shop for satellite technology, products, hardware, software and more. Passes are free through December 14, so register today to secure your pass, then head over to the official SATELLITE Show Planner to start creating your “must-see” list of exhibiting companies.

Whether you’re coming for the conference, or interested in visiting with the companies on the show floor, just make sure you clear your calendar March 12 – 15 so you can enjoy SATELLITE Week to its fullest!
